Added value on this post, here are a selection of painting and decorating tips:
- To make a narrow room look wider, hang striped wallpaper horizontally instead of vertically
- Shine a torch or bright light sideways along a wall you are about to fill, it will show up all imperfections, so that you can fill the wall thoroughly.
- Always apply multiple thinned down coats of paint instead of one thick coat straight from the tin. This is the correct way to create a superb finish.
- Use a ladder stay when painting guttering or high areas. It will keep you away from the wall creating a more comfortable position to paint from. Stability is also increased. Always ensure that the ladder angle is correct, as shown on the side of the ladder. Make sure that someone is holding the bottom of the ladder to add further stability.
